About CMN Ambassador - Westlyn

Our beautiful daughter Westlyn entered this world on my 32nd birthday. I will never have a birthday gift as great as the one I was given that day. 

After Westlyn was born, we noticed a large spot on her hip. At first, we were told it was likely a Mongolian spot, but we knew it looked different. After several hospital staff members examined her, one doctor suggested it could be a pigmented nevus. That evening, I found Nevus Outreach while searching for answers and reached out to the CMN community. 

That connection changed our journey. It led us to knowledgeable doctors, valuable information, and a support network that helped us navigate a world we knew nothing about. 

When Westlyn was born, our family was given a frightening prognosis by providers who did not fully understand CMN. We went home wondering how to process what we had been told about our daughter's future. Today, I raise awareness because families deserve more than fear and uncertainty. They deserve knowledgeable care, accurate information, connection, advocacy, and hope from the very beginning.
