CMN Ambassador - Lilian
Nevus Outreach / 2026 A-Team
In Kenya and across Africa, CMN awareness begins when we replace stigma with understanding and silence with support.
About CMN Ambassador - Lilian
Coming from an African Village which lacked total knowledge on what my “birthmark” was posed a lot of challenges to me. I faced stigmatization in school & unending stares which ended up affecting my self esteem. I questioned myself so many times but no one could give me answers. My family was clueless as well. I could put on long sleeves on a very hot weather just to hide my CMN.
I missed certain opportunities cos I couldn’t believe in myself enough. I always saw the “flaw”.
Raising CMM awareness is very important to me because when we speak about CMN, we speak about equity access to care and the right to live without stigma.
