Born in 1987, there was very little known about CMN, and as their firstborn child, my parents had a lot to navigate. The resources, information, and organizations available today would have been invaluable to them. By sharing my story, I hope to provide families considering removal surgery with firsthand insight from someone who has experienced it both as a child and as an adult. 

As someone born with a facial CMN, raising awareness is important to me because it creates a community for individuals with CMN and their families. It also gives us the opportunity to show the world that we are so much more than our nevus or our scars. 

I have experienced people judging my abilities based on my appearance, and I know firsthand how painful that can be. I want to share my story to provide hope and support to individuals and families affected by CMN, while showing how understanding and encouragement can empower those living with a nevus to embrace who they are and all that they can become.
